Portable nanopore analyzer for proteins and peptides
Development and validation of a portable nanopore analyzer
The human proteome, the collection of proteins and their abundance, greatly determines the biological functioning of humans. Proteomics, the study of the proteome, is therefore connected with every aspect of healthcare, ranging from fundamental research to diagnostics and drug development. More than 90% of medicines are targeted against the human proteome and an increasing number of drugs are proteins. The project partners Portal Biotech B.V., GECCO Biotech B.V., Cortalix B.V. and Rijksuniversiteit Groningen collaborate to develop and validate a portable nanopore analyzer for detecting proteins, peptides and other biomolecules. The €800,000,- subsidy from the EU will provide essential funding to accelerate the project's development and ensure it achieves its full potential.
